Antenna

I have been very sick for a few days, but tonight at last I don't have a fever. Yup, I am ready for the weekend and our office moving to a new location.

I was inspired by this Brainpickings article several days ago and bought the book on the spot.  The letter to his son - it's so beautiful.

"If you are in love — that’s a good thing — that’s about the best thing that can happen to anyone. Don’t let anyone make it small or light to you."

"And don’t worry about losing. If it is right, it happens — The main thing is not to hurry. Nothing good gets away."

I started reading it from the beginning, but started to flip though pages, for the book is organized in chronological order.  Very obviously, his writing improved significantly over the years, and the letters in his later years are more interesting to read, while in his younger age, he writes more candidly about his feeling and loneliness.

Truth be told, the only Steinbeck novel I've read is Cannery Row.  Reading this letters made me want to read his other ones too.

The other thing is that I am looking for organic lemons.  Of course, it's winter now, and it's probably like this Russian story of looking for a flower in the middle of white winter.  Tonight I bought a few decent lemons and made 2 bottles of honey-lemon.  Now, I am looking to make home-made Limoncello.  Still looking for lemons.

Today's image is taken by a friend of mine who has just traveled to the north.
